The Cardiac Sonographer performs and monitors echocardiogram procedures. Calculates, measures, and documents appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by providers. Communicate with others, such as physicians, Cardiologists, and colleagues regarding changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram. Responsible for equipment maintenance, reporting equipment malfunctions and quality assessment. The Cardiac Sonographer assumes ownership and leads advanced, specialized administrative, operational, and patient support duties that require independent initiative and judgment. You will report to the Center Administrator.
The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures independently, ensuring accurate results and high-quality patient care. We are looking for strong clinical judgment, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining professional standards and ethical practices.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality 2D echocardiograms with color flow Doppler within a 45-minute timeframe, while applying sound clinical judgment and following established protocols.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with physicians, cardiologists, nurses, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct patient assessments, explain the purpose of echocardiographic and vascular ultrasound procedures, and address patient questions with professionalism and empathy.
- Apply cognitive skills to identify, adapt, and differentiate between normal and pathological findings during exams.
- Prepare exam rooms, verify patient identity, and follow infection control procedures, including Standard Precautions.
- Evaluate requisitions or medical records to ensure appropriate patient preparation and procedural accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality laws, privacy regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain current ARDMS and/or CCI certifications in adult echocardiography and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Demonstrate sound judgment in the use of echo contrast agents.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies; promptly report malfunctions and support lab accreditation efforts.
- Coordinate schedules to ensure efficient workflow and coverage.
- Provide in-service education to staff as requested and perform other duties as assigned.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technician required
- Certification in Echocardiography through ARDMS or CCI required
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program required
- Demonstrated experience performing vascular studies required
- At least 1 year of experience in a diagnostic facility or hospitalExperience with ultrasound equipment, techniques, and diagnostic protocols
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- TB screening required upon selection
Preferred Qualifications
- Vascular certification
- Proficiency in both vascular and echocardiographic imaging
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Work Hours: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Location: You will support Conviva Oriole Plaza in Delray and Conviva West Palm Beach.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$77,900 - $106,300 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
