The role

As Category Manager for Machinery and Electrical, you will take full responsibility for a global category and shape how we source, negotiate, and work with suppliers across regions.

You will:

  • Own and drive category strategies that deliver real business impact
  • Lead commercial negotiations and tenders with key suppliers
  • Ensure we get the right balance between cost, quality, and availability
  • Work closely with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, and fleet

You will be part of a team that is actively changing how procurement supports the business, including Operational Excellence initiatives and stronger supplier collaboration.

What you will be doing

  • Own a few global M&E categories, including supplier selection, contracts, and performance
  • Drive tenders and negotiations – and be accountable for the outcome
  • Analyze spending, identify cost drivers, and turn insights into actions
  • Procurement support on major innovation projects, e.g. battery vessels
  • Build and challenge supplier relationships to ensure performance and value creation
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution
  • Support improvements in how we plan, source, and deliver goods to vessels
  • Ensure our catalogues, pricing, and commercial terms are accurate and fit for purpose

What success looks like

  • You create clear and executable category strategies
  • You drive measurable cost and value improvements
  • You establish strong, transparent supplier relationships
  • You challenge the way we work — and improve it
  • You are seen as a trusted partner by stakeholders

Who you are

You take ownership. You don’t wait for direction.

  • You are commercially sharp and enjoy negotiations
  • You are structured and able to turn complexity into clear actions
  • You are comfortable working in a global and operational environment
  • You can challenge stakeholders and suppliers in a constructive way
  • You are hands-on when needed — this is not a “PowerPoint-only” role

You are likely to have:

  • Experience within procurement, category management, or supply chain
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Experience working in complex, international environments
  • Background within the Electrical area, i.e. batteries (preferred)

A relevant degree is expected, and you must be fluent in English and Mandarin.

Why this role

  • Real ownership of a global category with tangible impact
  • High visibility and interaction with key stakeholders
  • Opportunity to influence how procurement operates going forward
  • A role where you can both think strategically and execute
