This Position reports to:

Your role and responsibilities:
The Category Manager – Engineering Services is responsible for developing and executing global category strategies for engineering and technical service procurement, including software development, embedded systems, product engineering, cybersecurity, testing and validation, certification support, digital engineering, and engineering consulting services. The role drives competitive sourcing, supplier performance, commercial excellence, risk mitigation, innovation, and value creation across the engineering services spend portfolio. The Category Manager partners closely with Engineering, R&D, Product Management, Procurement, Legal, and Business stakeholders to ensure access to high-quality engineering capabilities while achieving cost, quality, delivery, and innovation objectives.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation business for Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Develop and execute engineering services category strategies aligned with business and R&D priorities, leveraging market insights, supplier capabilities, and emerging technology trends.
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and selection of optimal commercial engagement models.
- Negotiate and manage contracts such as MSAs, SOWs, framework agreements, rate cards, and change requests while ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships through performance reviews, scorecards, capability development, onboarding, and governance processes.
- Partner with Engineering, R&D, Digital, Product Development, and Program Management teams to drive sourcing decisions, demand optimization, and make-vs-buy analyses.
- Deliver cost savings, productivity improvements, and commercial value through spend management, rate benchmarking, budget support, and innovation-driven sourcing strategies.
- Strengthen procurement governance by managing supplier, cybersecurity, IP, and compliance risks while promoting sustainability, automation, AI-driven solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 8-12+ years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or Supplier Management.
- Minimum 5 years managing engineering services, software services, technology services, R&D outsourcing, or technical consulting categories.
- Proven experience negotiating multi-million-dollar global contracts and framework agreements.
- Experience working with Engineering, Product Management, Digital, and R&D organizations.
