Cathode Electrode Engineer

Responsibilities

Locate/evaluate candidate Cathode Materials for high energy cell design, Anode will be a Li Metal coated on Cu foil

Cathode materials development & evaluation experience; High Ni centent NCM series, NCA series, and NCMA, LFP & LFMP

Locate/evaluate new cathode materials from various suppliers and run evaluation and screen process

Lead Cathode Electrode Design: optimum electrode formulation to meet the goal

Cathode Electrode process to meet the design

Assemble lithium metal coin and pouch cells and conduct testing with a focus on repeatability

Perform crystal structure, microstructure, particle size, voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, cycle life testing, and reliability tests to understand, and improve the performance

Electrochemical tests skills such current, voltage, CV, impedance, GITT

Knowledge and test skills of SEM, XRD, Particle size determination

Qualifications

MS in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field with focus on electrochemistry, material science or related field.

Knowledge and understanding of lithium ion battery technologies including cathode material selection and synthesis, electrode fabrication, cell design, cell assembly, testing and failure mode analysis. Lithium Metal Battery experience is plus.

Skills of testing coin and pouch cells

Knowledge of Cathode Material Mass Production Experience is plus

Knowledge of solid electrolyte material thermal processing and experience with solid state battery development is plus.

The candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and must be able to design and conduct complex experiments, employing DOE approach to interpret and correlate experimental results with battery product performance.

Desire to learn experimental and analytical techniques.

A good oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a team player in a multi-functional environment.
