CDL A Delivery Driver — Local Routes, Home Daily
- Location: Wausau, WI
- Hours: 4:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. | Occasional overtime
Put your CDL A to work with a local route that gets you home every day. Nassco, Inc., is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Delivery Driver to join Nassco’s Wausau team. You’ll operate a 48-foot tractor-trailer on routes from Wausau to the Fox Valley area, making approximately 3–12 stops and providing friendly, reliable customer service. What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Logistics Manager or Branch Manager, you’ll ensure products reach customers safely, accurately, and on time.
- Operate a 48-foot tractor-trailer and complete deliveries according to route instructions.
- Follow safety rules and procedures, maintain an acceptable driving record, and report accidents or infractions occurring on or off duty.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, report equipment concerns, and perform routine vehicle upkeep.
- Verify load security and confirm delivery quantities against paperwork.
- Safely unload and move products using hand carts, manual or electric pallet jacks, and lift gates.
- Use barcode/RF scanning tools and mobile applications to track products and capture proof of delivery.
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues, promptly reporting delivery issues or delays.
- Place products in designated customer storage areas and rotate stock when requested.
- Occasionally pick up products or equipment from customers or vendors and collect payments upon delivery.
- Complete additional routes as needed.
- Keep the truck clean and place returned, undelivered, or picked-up products in the appropriate staging areas.
- Participate in weekly driver meetings.
- Assist with warehouse material handling and inventory management as needed, including operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
- HazMat certification , or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of employment.
- A strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- The ability to work independently, stay organized, and solve problems.
- Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile applications and scanning equipment.
- The ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- The ability to perform the physical duties of the position.
Physical Requirements
This active delivery role requires regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally moving up to 100 pounds, either by hand or using a dolly. Duties also include entering and exiting the truck, climbing stairs at customer locations, crouching, bending, twisting, and using hands and fingers to operate vehicle controls and mobile applications.
