CDL A, Driving Instructor

The CDL School is seeking experienced Class A drivers who want to mentor future professionals entering the trucking industry.

• Pay Range:
• $21 to $28 per hour based on instructor certification level and advancement.

Requirements

SKILLS:

• •Proficient in driving over-the-road, diesel-powered 8 commercial vehicles to include straight-line backing, offset parking, alley-docking, and parallel parking.
• •Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• •Ability to read and comprehend varied and extensive written documents, regulations and reference materials.
• •Ability to prioritize workload.
• •Ability to utilize computer/tablets in daily operations.
• •Ability to teach CDL students to pass vehicle inspection, BSL testing, and over-the-road driving skills.
• •Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• •Knowledge and skill to conduct after action reviews of training.
• •Identify and report vehicle maintenance deficiencies.
• •Conduct minor maintenance repairs.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required

CERTIFICATION:

Current CDL A

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 6 months verifiable driving experience, or as required by state licensing agencies. Military experience may be considered as experience.
