About the role

The CDL Driver will perform duties associated with the moving of waste trailers at the municipal solid waste transfer stations in Paterson, NJ.

Primary Responsibilities

• •Operate yard tractors on-site to move waste trailers to be loaded with Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
• •Perform pre/post trip inspections of vehicle and equipment
• •Clear debris from top of the waste trailer and roll the tarp over the trailer

Additional Responsibilities

• •Maintain clear communication with equipment operators, site supervisor, scale attendant and additional site staff using 2-way radios
• •Responsible for safety of fellow employees, clients and the public while operating company vehicles and/or performing any company activity
• •Assist in litter removal from the yard
• •Complete additional assigned duties

Required Qualifications

• •CDL Class A license required
• •Must be 21 years or older, due to interstate travel in a commercial vehicle and federal regulations
• •Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• •High School Diploma / GED preferred.
• •2+ years of commercial driving experience, including yard tractor experience preferred.

Physical Demands of the Role

• •Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb for long periods of time
• •Ability to grab, grip, reach, push, pull, lift/carry 50lbs
• •Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
• •Consistently work in various weather conditions
• •Visual activity and hearing

Pay Transparency

This role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The pay rate and benefits will be according to CBA for the role.
