Certified Nursing Assistant Med Surg

Job Description:

Assists patients with healthcare needs who are ill or recovering from surgery or disease.

Prior to applying, please review: This is a full time, night shift position . To support the scheduling needs of the department, candidates must have availability across all seven days and nights of the week . Scheduling will be based on department needs and available preceptor coverage.

New caregivers must also be available to attend on-site orientation on Monday and Tuesday of their first week . In-person attendance during these initial orientation days helps provide a smooth and successful onboarding experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

• •Performs other duties as assigned.
• •Carries out care as delegated by the RN.
• •Receives report from RN daily by 0830 or 2030 to coordinate plan of care related to ADL's. Documents all ADL's for each patient every shift.
• •Answers lights, or intercom system to determine patients' needs.
• •Serves and collects food trays and feeds patients requiring help.
• •Transports patients or assists patients to walk.
• •Runs errands, and direct visitors.
• •Participates in admission/discharge activities.
• •Accurately documents the care provided to patient during shift.
• •Adheres to infection prevention strategies.
• •Stock rooms with supplies. Stock isolation racks with supplies.
• •Responsible to perform purposeful rounding.
• •Updates "care boards" to include name, plan related to ADL/s, date

• •Entry Rate: Depending on experience PLUS shift differentials

• •Shift Details: Full Time - Night Shift 6:00pm to 6:00am
• •Department: Med-Surg - primary floor will be 3rd, but they will float to 5M as necessary, and occasionally to the ED as a sitter
• •This position is a Teamsters position so union dues/ membership is mandatory

Minimum Requirements:

• •High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• •Current Montana C.N.A. certification required upon hire
• •BLS required within 60 days of hire

Preferred:

Previous hospital experience

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 4. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

5. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

7. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
