Your role

• •Perform engineering design and reviews as may be mandated for the design changes in question.
• •Prepare engineering design calculations for repair and reinforcing of structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete and masonry, and prepare design documents.
• •Provide technical guidance to resolve structural issues and interpret design documents.
• •Liaise with contractors, stakeholders and other disciplines to address RFIs, NCRs, and FCRs.
• •Identify potential structural risks and recommend corrective measures.
• •Provide construction directions driven by structural design.
• •Review and comment on the work performed by others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation.
• •Attend meetings with contractors, stakeholders and other disciplines to address construction issues and develop effective engineering solutions.
• •Conduct regular site walkdowns and verify structural integrity during construction stages.

About you

• •Civil Engineering degree from an accredited University.
• •Master's degree and above is an asset.
• •Must be Licensed in a professional engineering organization recognized in Canada.
• •Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
• •Minimum 8 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures.
• •Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design-office and site experience.
• •Thorough knowledge of Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Civil/Structural engineering.
• •Thorough knowledge of use of Analysis software commonly used in Civil/Structural engineering such as StaadPro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
• •Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• •This role requires consistent on-site presence and may involve supporting a shift work schedule based on operational needs.
