The Class Experience & Talent Leader is the cultural heartbeat of our facility. You are responsible for building a world-class team of instructors, cultivating an inclusive and magnetic member community, and ensuring our studios always deliver a flawless, sensory-rich workout environment.

Requirements

Role and Responsibilities:

· Recruit, audition, onboard, coach, and evaluate group exercise instructors, including cycle, yoga, and studio-based

formats.

· Conduct regular class observations and audits, providing ongoing feedback on cueing, musicality, programming,

energy, member engagement, and overall instructional quality.

· Foster instructor development through mentoring, training, and performance improvement initiatives.

· Oversee the cleanliness, organization, safety, and presentation of all fitness studios and group exercise spaces.

· Ensure all fitness equipment, sound systems, lighting, and studio technology are operational and support an

exceptional participant experience.

· Maintain a visible presence in fitness areas, building strong relationships with members and creating a welcoming,

inclusive environment.

· Assist members in selecting programs and classes that align with their health and wellness goals.

· Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.

· Plan, coordinate, and execute special events, workshops, challenge programs, master classes, and community-

building initiatives.

· Collaborate with marketing and branch leadership to promote programs and increase participation, retention, and

member engagement.

· Manage group exercise schedules and instructor assignments to ensure full program coverage.

· Maintain a reliable substitute instructor pool and coordinate emergency coverage to minimize schedule disruptions

and prevent class cancellations.

· Monitor class attendance, participation trends, and member feedback to identify opportunities for program

enhancement and growth.

· Ensure compliance with YMCA standards, risk management practices, safety procedures, and instructor certification

requirements.

· Support branch goals related to membership growth, engagement, retention, and overall wellness program

performance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

· 2+ years of experience leading, auditing, or mentoring group fitness instructors (Studio, Cycle, or Yoga formats). · Current Group Fitness Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM) or a specialized modality certification (e.g., 200-hour RYT for Yoga). · Current CPR/AED certification. · A high standard for facility presentation, cleanliness, and audio/visual setup. · Magnetic personality with a proven track record of resolving customer complaints and building strong, diverse community relationships.
