Job Summary
This position is a unique split-role opportunity that provides dedicated support to the same physician across two distinct practice environments. The physician serves both as a retinal specialist in a traditional clinical practice and as a provider within the Inherited Retinal Disorders Service, a specialized research-focused clinic. As a result, this role combines the responsibilities of a fast-paced clinical practice support position with the high-touch, patient-centered coordination required in a specialized inherited disease program.
Success in this role requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and the ability to quickly adjust priorities while building meaningful relationships with patients and families.

- -Supporting a higher-volume, fast-paced retina clinic that operates several times per month
- -Providing additional support during physician on-call weeks, when priorities and workload can shift quickly

- -Assists with operational workflow and patient coordination throughout the visit
- -Works closely with patients and families, requiring a compassionate, service-oriented approach and strong relationship-building skills
- Because many patients have inherited conditions, this role includes a family-centered component that often requires empathy, patience, and supportive communication similar to a social work environment.
