Description of Work

The primary purpose of this position is to provide highly specialized/individualized nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to persons living at MDC with a wide variety of acute and chronic illnesses/conditions, including but not limited to dysphagia, swallowing, and feeding difficulties/behaviors, developmental disorders/autism, diabetes, hypertension,hyperlipidemia, gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic disorders, inborn errors of metabolism, food allergies/intolerances. The primary duties of the Clinical Dietitian include nutritional assessment and documentation for an assigned caseload,meeting attendance, nutrition education/training.

ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $52,848.00 - $79,272.00

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of dietetics and nutrition.

Knowledge of the dietary requirements for a variety of special diets and allowable substitutions for various items found on regular and diet menus.

Ability to professionally produce and present nutrition education/training to both large and small audiences.

This Position Is Exempt And Is EXEMPT From Certain Provisions Of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126)

Scheduled work hours/shift options: 8a to 5p ; 5 days per week.

This is a full time position and eligible for the full state benefits package including Health Insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays, retirement, etc.

Additional Job Description

Master's degree in foods and nutrition or a related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition AND Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR);

OR

Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, dietetics, or related area from an appropriately accredited institution that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition AND Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and current registration, in good standing, administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) AND two years of experience in a clinical dietary setting.

Candidates will be considered while completing licensure requirements. Licensure must be obtained prior to beginning employment.
