Clinical Internship / Field Placement

InnerSourced Solutions is a CARF-accredited outpatient mental health center serving children, adolescents, and adults in Charles County and surrounding areas. We are currently accepting applications from graduate-level students seeking a clinical practicum or internship placement for the 2026-2027 academic year for a school based placement.

We offer a structured, supervised clinical training experience across multiple service settings, including office, home, and school-based environments. Interns develop practical skills in individual and family psychotherapy, diagnostic formulation, treatment planning, and electronic documentation under the supervision of licensed clinicians.

Compensation & Stipend Details:

This is an unpaid academic internship required for graduation. However, to support our students with living and commuting expenses, we provide a $500.00 monthly educational stipend . Please note our transparent structure for this stipend:

Training & Onboarding: The initial 2-week training, EHR orientation, and compliance onboarding period is focused entirely on learning agency systems and is unpaid.

Stipend Timeline: Monthly stipend distributions of $500.00 begin processing the first full month after onboarding is completed and direct client services commence.

• Clinical Supervision: Weekly, individual/group board-approved clinical supervision is provided entirely by the agency at no cost to the student.

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applicants currently enrolled in an accredited master's-level program in social work, professional counseling, or psychology who meet the following criteria:

Active enrollment in a clinical practicum or internship course through your academic institution

Completion of graduate coursework in psychopathology, clinical diagnosis, and treatment planning

Willingness to commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week on-site, including at least 10 client contact hours

Availability for at least two evening sessions per week (telehealth permitted for appropriate clients)

Ability to pass a criminal background and Child Protective Services background check

Proof of student malpractice insurance

Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain it prior to placement

Note for counseling students: Applicants in a graduate Professional Counseling program are required to complete both their Practicum and Internship with our agency.

Initiative, time management, and comfort with multitasking in a clinical team setting

Competence working with diverse populations across the lifespan

Familiarity with the DSM-5-TR, evidence-based treatment modalities, and clinical terminology

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Comfort working in a fully electronic environment

This is an on-site position based at an elementary school in Waldorf, Maryland. This position is not remote.

Please note: Applicants who are not currently enrolled in a master's degree program or who are seeking a remote placement will not be considered. Please do not apply if you have not met your program's prerequisites for practicum or internship, or if your placement start date is more than three months in the future.
