Department : Behavioral Health & Wellness
Program : Children’s Mental Health / School-based Outpatient
Status : Full-time, exempt
Location ; Primarily at Berry Clinic with responsibilities that may require working at other SBCS office locations, school sites, and community settings to meet the needs of the program,
Salary : $100,000 (Licensed therapists with LMFT, LMSW or LPCC)
$75,000 (Licensed-eligible therapist with AMFT, APCC or ACSW)
Schedule : Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Must be available to work until 8 p.m. two evenings per week to meet the various needs of the program.

Program:
SBCS' School based Outpatient (CMH) program provides a comprehensive range of outpatient behavioral health services for children, adolescents and their families. Services include individual therapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, case management, group therapy and coordination with SBCS programs and community-based resources to support clients’ overall well-being and long-term success.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Under the supervision of the School Based Outpatient Program Director and Department Director, the Clinician is responsible for providing trauma-informed mental health services to SBCS’ clients - both in the schools and the community. The Clinician is responsible for providing a comprehensive in-person array of therapeutic services to children and adolescents, including crisis intervention, case management, individual and family therapy, and linkage to community resources for children and adolescents. Services will be in keeping with agency goals, objectives, mission and style and provided within a team framework. Associates are responsible for working with the team in developing team goals and objectives and in meeting those goals and objectives.
DUTIES :
- Provide in-person therapeutic, case management, and crisis intervention services to clients and their families in the office, at contracted schools and within community, to clients and their families.
- Conduct client intakes, comprehensive assessments, and individualized treatment plans to identify needs, establish goals, and develop appropriate service interventions.
- Complete and maintain all required case file documentation accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner.
- Maintain client case files in accordance with County and Agency standards to include electronic medical records in County required databases.
- Expected to meet required productivity and billable hour expectations.
- Maintain an active caseload of 20 -25 clients
- Communicate regularly with involved parties, partner agencies and community resources to coordinate care, facilitate referrals, and ensure clients have access to appropriate services and supports. Prepare, compile, and submit monthly statistical reports and program data in accordance with County, Agency and contractual requirements.
- Adhere to agency and County client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings, required agency trainings and activities, individual supervision and clinical group supervision
- Maintain a current BBS intern registration number or license.
- Assist with outreach efforts to engage the target population and effectively connect individuals and families in need with appropriate services and support. Assist with implementation of contractual and programmatic requirements to ensure services are delivered in alignment with agency standards and program goals.
- Participate in walk-in clinic coverage at least 1–2 times per quarter, or as needed, to provide clients with community resource information, referrals, and service coordination support.

Requirements
- Master’s degree in psychology or related field.
- Must be registered with the California BBS as an LMFT, LMSW, LPCC, LCSW, or AMFT. APCC, or ACSW.
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in child, youth and family services field.
- Experience should preferably have been in a community based or neighborhood service organization.
- Must adhere to agency client confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies
- Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate or advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Experience working with SmartCare or similar electronic health record systems is highly desirable.
- Fluent Spanish speaker with the ability to read and write in Spanish, preferred.
- Ability to work with a diverse population, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
Conditions of Employment
- Employment may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of certain background clearances which may include a Department of Justice criminal background check requiring my fingerprints (Live Scan), screening through the National Sex Offender Public Website, drug test, tuberculosis (TB) test, and such additional clearances as may be required under the program.
- Candidate is required to have reliable transportation; therefore, the candidate must successfully complete a motor history check. Candidate must also possess and maintain a current valid California driver’s license and valid auto insurance policy. (Approximately 10% - 15% of the time.)
