We are the Webex Persistence Team within the Webex Service Engineering & SRE organization. Our team designs, builds, and operates

highly scalable persistence services powering Webex Teams, Webex Meetings, and the broader Webex Suite. We work across

Webex Data Centers and AWS Cloud environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance at a global scale.

As part of this team, you will work on mission-critical infrastructure and platform systems, including data, streaming, and persistence layers, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and cloud-native engineering.

Your Impact

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (G8) with strong expertise in Python, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines to build and operate scalable, automated platforms.

This role is focused on hands-on implementation, automation, system reliability, and platform support, with exposure to data platforms, streaming systems, and AI/ML workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Python

Build and optimize data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and distributed databases

Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration in production environments.

Implement infrastructure automation using Unusable

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub

Work on AI/ML-enabled features, including data pipelines and intelligent services

Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability across distributed environments

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, and data engineering

Participate in design reviews, code reviews,Code writing and architecture discussions

Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment velocity and system efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

-4+ years of experience in software engineering or data platform development

- Strong programming skills in Java, Python

- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

- Strong experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)

- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and version control (GitHub)

- Experience in automation/configuration management (Ansible preferred)

- Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture

- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Exposure to AI/ML workloads, data pipelines, or GenAI systems

Familiarity with NoSQL Database Mysql.
