Summary of the role:

The Cloud Platform Analyst provides hands-on operational support for Levi’s Enterprise Cloud Services across Azure and Google Cloud. The role helps maintain secure, reliable, observable, and cost-effective cloud services while building foundational expertise in cloud engineering, automation, DevOps, and AI-enabled operations.

This position works within established architectures, standards, and runbooks. It resolves defined operational issues, implements approved changes, contributes reusable automation, and escalates complex design or risk decisions to senior engineers.

About the role:

Monitor and support Azure and GCP compute, storage, networking, identity, container, database, and managed platform services; perform routine administration and approved changes.

Respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests; troubleshoot using logs, metrics, traces, queries, and documented procedures; communicate status and escalate appropriately.

Support 24x7 production services through a scheduled on-call rotation and participate in incident response, recovery, post-incident reviews, and corrective actions.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent tools, with source control, peer review, testing, and documentation.

Operate and improve CI/CD and GitOps workflows using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent platforms.

Support containerized workloads and managed Kubernetes services such as AKS or GKE, including deployment, configuration, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.

Build and maintain observability dashboards, alerts, SLI/SLO measurements, runbooks, and automated remediation using cloud-native and enterprise monitoring tools.

Apply DevSecOps practices by supporting IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, policy as code, configuration compliance, and software supply-chain controls.

Use FinOps reports and cloud billing data to maintain resource tags, identify waste, recommend rightsizing, and improve cost allocation.

Use approved generative AI and AIOps tools to summarize telemetry, correlate events, draft queries or scripts, improve knowledge articles, and accelerate troubleshooting; validate outputs and protect confidential data.

  • Contribute reusable modules, service templates, APIs, documentation, and self-service workflows for the internal developer platform.
  • Collaborate with application, security, network, data, service-management, and vendor teams; keep operational records and knowledge current.

About you:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience supporting cloud infrastructure, production operations, systems administration, DevOps, or site reliability activities.

Hands-on experience with Azure or Google Cloud; exposure to the other platform is preferred.

Associate-level Azure or Google Cloud certification is preferred; Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux, ITIL, security, or FinOps certification is a plus.

Working knowledge of cloud compute, storage, networking, load balancing, DNS, IAM, secrets, backup, resilience, and disaster-recovery concepts.

Practical Linux or Windows administration and foundational networking troubleshooting.

Experience with Git and at least two of the following: Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent tools.

Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes fundamentals; AKS or GKE experience is preferred.

Familiarity with observability concepts and tools for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, alerting, and service-level objectives.

Foundational DevSecOps knowledge, including least privilege, secure configuration, vulnerability management, policy as code, secrets management, and software supply-chain security.

Foundational FinOps knowledge, including tagging, allocation, budgets, rightsizing, utilization, and cost anomaly review.

Ability to query, organize, visualize, and explain operational data using tools such as Kusto Query Language, cloud logging queries, SQL, Power BI, or spreadsheets.

Practical understanding of generative AI and AIOps concepts, including prompt formulation, retrieval-grounded responses, anomaly detection, alert correlation, and AI-assisted automation.

  • Ability to evaluate AI output for accuracy, security, privacy, bias, and operational risk; use only approved tools and maintain human oversight.
  • Communicates clearly in written and spoken English with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Collaborates with Cloud Platform Engineering, application teams, cybersecurity, networking, data, service management, vendors, and managed-service partners.

Prepares concise incident updates, technical documentation, dashboards, recommendations, and demonstrations.

  • Scope: Global responsibility supporting Enterprise Platform Services. Participation in a scheduled on-call rotation for 24x7 production services is required.
  • Individual contributor who performs defined technical work independently within established standards, architectures, security controls, and change procedures.

Owns assigned incidents, requests, operational tasks, documentation, and small automation improvements from intake through closure.

Analyzes routine to moderately complex issues, selects solutions from known patterns, tests changes, documents evidence, and escalates architectural, high-risk, or ambiguous decisions.

Accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, security, and quality of assigned work; promptly communicates risks, blockers, and customer impact.

Expected to learn rapidly, seek feedback, share knowledge, and progressively expand depth across cloud operations and automation.
