The AWS Cloud Solutions Architect is a senior technical lead who supervises AWS migration and transformation projects and makes sure the work the delivery teams produce is right, sets technical direction, reviews and signs off designs and deliverables, and steps in when teams meet technical problems they cannot resolve on their own.

You will work with delivery engineers, project managers, client stakeholders, AWS and third-party vendors, and hold the work to AWS best practice and the client's security and quality requirements.

Roles and responsibilities:

Migration oversight

  • Lead and oversee cloud migration activities across projects, tracking technical progress against scope, plan and project objectives.
  • Review migration assessments, wave plans and the migration approach chosen for each workload (rehost, replatform, refactor and the other 7 Rs).
  • Review cutover, rollback and hypercare plans before each migration wave, and confirm technical readiness for go-live.
  • Monitor technical risks and issues during execution, and agree mitigation actions with the delivery teams.

Design and deliverable review

  • Review and approve solution designs (HLDs and LLDs), architecture diagrams and technical standards produced by the delivery teams.
  • Review project deliverables, such as landing zone designs, migration runbooks, test plans, operational handover documents and as-built documentation, for quality, completeness and compliance with agreed requirements.
  • Define review checklists, acceptance criteria and quality gates for technical deliverables, and track review findings through to closure.
  • Check that designs follow the AWS Well-Architected Framework across security, reliability, performance, cost and operations.
  • Confirm that security and regulatory controls are covered in designs and evidenced in deliverables.

Technical guidance

  • Provide architectural guidance and AWS best practices to delivery teams throughout the migration and transformation lifecycle.
  • Advise on key technical decisions: account structure and landing zone, network and hybrid connectivity, identity, backup and disaster recovery, and tooling.
  • Coach engineers and solution leads through design reviews, and share lessons learned and reusable patterns across projects.

Stakeholder and vendor collaboration

  • Work with project teams, client stakeholders, AWS and third-party vendors to resolve technical challenges and blockers.
  • Represent the technical position in steering and status meetings, and explain design trade-offs and risks to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Act as the escalation point for technical disagreements and decisions on the projects you supervise.

Technical governance

  • Support technical governance, design reviews and decision-making across cloud projects, keeping a record of key decisions and their rationale.
  • Contribute to the practice's review templates, standards and reference architectures.
  • Support pre-sales when needed with solution reviews and technical input to proposals.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure or IT consulting, with at least 4 years on AWS.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  • Experience overseeing or leading the technical delivery of enterprise migrations to AWS.
  • Proven experience reviewing and approving solution designs and technical deliverables.
  • Broad knowledge of AWS services across compute, storage, databases, networking, identity and security, enough to judge the quality of a design.
  • Good understanding of migration methods and tooling and of landing zone concepts
  • Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD practices, enough to review how delivery teams apply them.
  • Experience managing technical risks and working with vendors and client stakeholders.
  • Strong written and spoken English, and the ability to write clear, actionable review feedback.
  • Arabic language skills.

Preferred:

  • AWS Specialty certifications (Security, Advanced Networking) or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
  • Knowledge of Saudi regulatory frameworks (NCA ECC/CCC, SAMA CSF, PDPL)
  • Experience reviewing disaster recovery and business continuity designs.
  • Familiarity with core infrastructure services (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, ADFS) and enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAP on AWS).
  • Multi-cloud exposure (Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Consulting experience with government, banking, energy or telecom clients in KSA or the GCC.

Key Competencies:

  • Attention to detail: finds gaps, errors and risks in designs and documents before they reach the client.
  • Technical judgement: weighs options and makes sound technical calls without doing the build work.
  • Supervision: directs and follows up on the work of several delivery teams at once.
  • Stakeholder management: builds trust with client teams, vendors and project managers, and handles competing priorities.
  • Communication: gives clear, constructive review feedback and explains trade-offs simply.
  • Problem solving: helps teams work through complex technical issues and keeps delivery movin
