- Job Summary:
- Loenbro is seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the planning and execution of industrial and mining construction projects. Working under the direction of a Project Manager, this role helps manage schedules, budgets, and on-site activities to ensure safe, timely project delivery. The ideal candidate understands construction processes, strong organizational skills, and the ability to support cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Coordination:
- Assist in developing project estimates, budgets, and schedules using P6 or Microsoft Project. Attend job walks and coordinate with Pre-Construction and Estimating teams. Support project viability assessments and estimate development while helping maintain project schedules and monitor progress.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Support safety culture by helping implement site-specific safety plans. Assist with safety reporting, meetings, and digital safety application (KPA) entry. Help ensure project compliance with codes, standards, and specifications while supporting QA/QC department with quality plan implementation.
- Document & Communication Management:
- Maintain project documentation in control tools (Procore, Teams, SharePoint). Manage project administration including RFIs, change orders, and closeout documents. Serve as secondary contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors while coordinating third-party services and field verification activities.
- Procurement & Financial Support:
- Perform material take-offs and manage purchase requisitions. Assist with Subcontract and Professional Service Agreements. Support Project Controls team with Schedule of Values and billing while helping monitor project budgets and track quantities.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist Superintendents with daily planning
Attend site meetings as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Knowledge of safety processes and procedures specific to industrial construction; OSHA 10 certification required.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with project management software such as Procore or similar.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ensures accuracy in all aspects of project tracking, reporting, and documentation.
Identifies and addresses challenges related to constructability, logistics, and materials proactively.
Works effectively with cross-functional teams including field crews, subcontractors, and engineering to support project goals.
Education and Experience:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in coordination or support role within industrial construction.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications.
Forklift Certification or experience with material handling is a plus.
- Work Environment:
- This is a full-time, hybrid position based in a shop/office environment with regular travel to industrial job sites required. Sites may include active plants, refineries, and new construction sites.
- Schedule:
- Standard work hours are Monday through Friday. The nature of industrial construction projects requires flexibility, and employees must be willing to work a variable schedule, including early mornings or extended hours, as needed to align with project phases, shift work, and critical path milestones.
