Coder - Professional

Primary Responsibilities:

• •Review and accurately assign E/M codes for outpatient physician services in accordance with current coding guidelines.
• •Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, CMS, and payer-specific regulations.
• •Analyze medical documentation to determine the appropriate level of service based on Medical Decision Making (MDM), time, and other applicable guidelines.
• •Conduct coding audits and provide feedback to providers when necessary.
• •Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the organization.

Required Qualifications:

• •Strong knowledge of Outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding guidelines, E/M IP would be a addition.
• •Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and healthcare documentation requirements.
• •Experience coding physician/professional fee services.
• •Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding guidelines accurately.
• •Should be certified from AAPC/AHIMA

Preferred Qualifications:

• •Working knowledge of Inpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding.
• •Experience with both outpatient and inpatient physician coding.
• •Familiarity with CMS and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
