Position: Lead Business Central Functional Consultant

Role Summary

We are looking for a Lead Business Central Functional Consultant to drive end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations and head functional solution architecture within our ERP and Digital practice. In this role, you will lead solution design across Financial Management and Project Accounting, interface directly with global enterprise stakeholders during IST operating hours, and manage/mentor a team of junior functional consultants and AL developers. Operating onsite from our Kochi facility, you will serve as the bridge between client executives, delivery leaders, and technical teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Architecture & Solution Design

• •Lead discovery workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with enterprise clients to map business workflows and evaluate gap fitment.
• •Author comprehensive Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and process maps, establishing solution blueprints built primarily around standard Business Central capabilities.
• •Configure system structures including General Ledger setups, dimensions, AP/AR, fixed assets, job costing, work-in-progress (WIP), and project billing models.
• •Translate client requirements into structured functional specs for iPaaS integrations, Dataverse connectors, and custom AL extensions.

Functional Team Management & Technical Oversight

• •Direct, manage, and mentor junior functional consultants and AL developers across project implementation lifecycles.
• •Conduct functional code reviews, output validations, and specification sign-offs for junior team deliverables to maintain COE delivery benchmarks.
• •Coordinate day-to-day work allocation, sprint tracking, and functional solution alignment between developers, database leads, and project managers.

Client Delivery & Stakeholder Communication

• •Act as the direct functional point of contact for external clients, leading regular solution presentations, sprint reviews, and status calls during IST hours.
• •Oversee data migration workflows, Configuration Package execution, and validation routines from legacy platforms into Business Central.
• •Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution, client sign-off processes, end-user training sessions, and standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation.

Required Technical Skills

• Domain Skills & Technologies Must / Preferred
• ERP Platform Dynamics 365 Business Central (Cloud/On-Premise) / Dynamics NAV Must
• Core Modules Financial Management (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash Flow, Multi-Currency) Must
• Core Modules Jobs & Project Management (Job Costing, Resource Management, WIP, Project Billing) Must
• Secondary Modules Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Basic/Advanced Warehousing Preferred
• Integration Platforms Dataverse / Microsoft Power Platform Integrations Preferred
• Integration Platforms iPaaS Frameworks (e.g., Workato, Boomi, Azure Logic Apps, or similar middleware) Preferred
• Data Migration Configuration Packages, Excel Integration, SQL Data Analysis Must
• Documentation & Process Functional Design Documents (FDD), Visio / Lucidchart Process Flows Must

Qualifications & Certifications

• •Education : Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration (Finance), or equivalent field.
• •Experience : 8–11 years of hands-on functional experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV solutions.
• •Leadership & Delivery Track Record : Proven experience leading at least 3–4 full-lifecycle end-to-end Business Central implementations, including direct experience managing junior consultants or developers.

Preferred Certifications

• •Microsoft Certified : Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate (MB-800)
• •Relevant certifications in Project Management (PMP) or Agile frameworks (Scrum Master)
