What a College Intern - New Product Introduction Engineering (NPI Mechanical/Mechatronics) does at HP:

• •You will work closely with the NPI Principal Technologist and engineering teams
• •Develop and test product and tooling concepts through rapid prototyping
• •Solve manufacturing, process, automation, and product-related problems
• •Design and modify fixtures, jigs, and tooling
• •Support experiments, characterization studies, and NPI builds
• •Assist with data analysis, SPC, gage R&R, and engineering investigations
• •Collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines to introduce new technologies into production

Technical Skills Being Developed:

• •Product Design
• •Tools & Fixture Design
• •Manufacturing Process Development
• •Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigation
• •Statistical Process Control (SPC)
• •Experimental Design and Testing
• •Rapid Prototyping

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess: ​

• •Current Bachelor or Master undergraduates in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
• •Able to commit for a 5-6 months full-time internship, starting in January 2027
• •3D CAD
• •FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
• •CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Modelling
• •Mechanism Design
• •Machine Vision Systems
• •Robotics
• •Programming
• •Strong engineering fundamentals
• •Hands-on problem-solving ability
• •Initiative and independence
