Bank of America’s Sports Finance & Advisory Group is seeking a Commercial Associate to join our team in Charlotte. This group is a specialized team within the Global Commercial Bank and serves public and private entities within the broad-based sports industry ecosystem. The team brings its industry specialization, expertise and innovative solutions to support the financial needs of sports leagues, organizations and associations, teams, facilities such as stadiums and arenas, select sports-centric media entities, and other select content-based and related peripheral companies competing in and supporting the sports industry. The Sports Finance & Advisory Group’s mandate includes clients and prospects throughout the U.S. and internationally. In concert with dedicated teammates including Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Rates/FX, and Credit we provide integrated advisory and capital raising capabilities to achieve a full range of strategic objectives. Our comprehensive suite of innovative solutions includes acquisition financing, international banking and financing, and turnkey working capital products and services.
- Job Description:
- This job is responsible for delivering analytical research and data-driven insights to support commercial banking client and prospect needs with banking and product partners. Key responsibilities include developing economic and market insights, industry analysis, pitchbooks, and relationship reviews that inform strategy, and providing support throughout interactions. Job expectations include leveraging data to tell stories, supporting internal idea generation and transaction execution, strengthening client engagement, and observing client interactions to build foundational knowledge.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the analysis of market and industry data to uncover insights for client/prospect meetings, pitch books, and relationship reviews
- Collaborates with Group Head and Market Executive , Relationship Managers, and team members across the bank to help prepare client presentations and support client deals
- Observes and supports the credit approval and treasury solutions processes to build knowledge of products, services, and related approval and packaging requirements
- Supports the coordination of clients/prospects and partners from product and deal teams throughout the course of a transaction
- Supports the delivery of new business analytics, monitors client activities, and performs portfolio optimization to identify and expand client relationships while maintaining and enhancing business opportunities
- Understands and interprets financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies and industry trends
- Observes with domestic and international teammates including Investment Banking, Foreign Exchange, and Wealth Management, and facilitates client relationships with Product Specialists in Credit, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services to design and deliver financial solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of professional or business experience
- Highly proficient financial modeling skills
- Demonstrates and applies strong critical thinking and the ability to work proactively and independently
- Displays excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Maintains strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Has strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Understands and interprets corporate financial statements
Desired Qualifications:
- Previously held an internship or entry-level role in financial services
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
Work Expectations: The role supports a business with evolving priorities and deadline-driven assignments. While routine travel is not expected, candidates should be prepared for occasional periods that require significant flexibility, extended availability, and prompt responsiveness to meet client and business needs.

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
This position may be filled at either the Commercial Associate or Senior Commercial Associate level, depending on the selected candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
