DESCRIPTION:

The Commercial Excellence Senior Manager – Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) will act as a commercial operational partner to North America (NA) GSD – Commercial teams moving strategy to action and lead the execution of best-in-class Sales Force Effectiveness operating models to maximize sales team performance and AOT growth. You will be part of the GSD Sales Operations function and also Center of Excellence for Sales Force Effectiveness & Training (SFE); additionally, you will partner with all the Global Commercial Processes and Operations (CP&O) functions, working collaboratively across GSD to drive a culture of continuous sales improvement and high performance.

How you will make an impact:

Lead the deployment & adoption of a scalable Commercial Excellence Standard Work operating model for GSD, driving sales force effectiveness, CRM / Digital tool training and adoption, revenue predictability, and execution discipline across North America GSD, with influence on global GSD adoption

Act as a commercial partner for the GSD Commercial Leadership team, translating growth priorities into data-driven sales strategies e.g. sales process update to support core products growth, funnel & forecast performance, sales skills focus on optimizing revenue, territory planning, and go to market investment prioritization

Drive the Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) strategy and sales force efficiencies across NA GSD, with cross functional alignment across Centers of Excellence (SFD/SFE, Analytics, Platforms, Pricing), delivering advanced analytics, performance insights, and AI-enabled digital tools & training to improve effective selling time, customer experience & commercial performance.

Lead continuous improvement across GSD sales teams through Standard work, Sales skills training, KPI governance, and kaizen methodologies, embedding a high-performance culture across the commercial organization

Focused on achieving NA GSD AOP, supporting weekly, MBR, QBR requirements and influencing GSD Globally

Willingness to travel 10%-25% domestically and internationally as required.

REQUIREMENTS & CAPABILITIES:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required (Business or related preferred); MBA preferred

SalesForce CRM trainer/facilitator certification preferred

Experience & Leadership:

10+ years commercial / commercial operations experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles driving commercial performance and commercial ops teams

Commercial operations and sales leadership experience in life and genetic sciences, driving consumables growth, instrumentation sales, and large strategic deals.

Proven success in continuous improvement (e.g., PPI, Kaizen), sales processes, digital/AI systems & tools, analytics, team development

Proactive, self-motivated leader with strong initiative, excellent interpersonal skills, and a results-driven mindset.

Technical Expertise & Sales Force Effectiveness:

Strong Salesforce.com expertise and sales process management (AI, funnels, dashboards)

Advanced analytics skills (SFDC, AI tools, Excel, Power BI, data visualization)

Deep knowledge of Sales Force Effectiveness methodologies and commercial analytics

Strategic Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence:

Ability to lead cross-functionally and influence in complex, matrixed organizations

Strong communication to senior leaders

Proven stakeholder influence & management and ability to drive alignment across all levels

Change Management & Organizational Development:

Track record of driving transformation and continuous improvement in a dynamic commercial environment

Ability to lead through ambiguity with resilience and a growth mindset

Experience in coaching, talent development, and building organizational capability

Core Competencies:

Strong alignment with company values on Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement and high ethical standards

Commercial & customer mindset, ability to turn strategy to action and strong analytical / system capabilities

Excellent program management skills with ability to lead multiple initiatives

Travel & Physical Requirements:

Willingness to travel 10–25% (domestic and international)

Ability to work at a PC, Virtual MS Team calls for extended period

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $132,000.00–$197,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
