Role Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commis to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the kitchen team in daily food preparation and service, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. This is an entry-level kitchen role ideal for passionate culinary professionals eager to learn and grow in a high-standard environment.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Service

• •Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to recipes and standards
• •Support the Chef de Partie during service to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• •Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
• •Follow instructions accurately and efficiently

Kitchen Operations

• •Set up and organize workstations before service
• •Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of tools, equipment, and ingredients
• •Assist with basic cooking tasks under supervision

Hygiene, Safety & Compliance

• •Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP)
• •Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, work areas, and equipment at all times
• •Ensure proper food handling, labeling, and FIFO procedures

Learning & Development

• •Learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs
• •Participate in training sessions and daily briefings
• •Demonstrate willingness to improve skills and knowledge continuously

Qualifications & Experience

• •Culinary diploma or basic professional kitchen training preferred
• •Previous experience as a Commis Chef or kitchen trainee is an advantage
• •Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety standards
