WORLD WIDE PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS is a project solutions organization committed to implementing lean constructions, collaborative contracting, and execution approaches to enable breakthroughs in performance.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commissioning Process Engineer to support a major semiconductor facility project in Chandler, Arizona . This position will provide field based engineering support for the commissioning and startup of process and facility utility systems serving wafer fabrication and cleanroom operations. The successful candidate will have hands on experience validating system readiness, executing tests, resolving field issues, and coordinating turnover from construction to facilities operations.

The Commissioning Process Engineer will work closely with commissioning, engineering, construction, trade partners, equipment vendors, controls, safety, and operations teams to bring new and modified systems online safely and efficiently. Assigned systems may include bulk and specialty gas, chemical distribution, ultrapure water, process cooling water, compressed dry air, vacuum, process exhaust, scrubbers, and industrial wastewater. Direct semiconductor facilities experience is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, checklists, and functional test scripts for assigned process and facility utility systems.

Review P&IDs, specifications, sequences of operation, vendor data, system boundaries, and turnover packages to confirm readiness and acceptance criteria.

Perform field walkdowns and verify installation, labeling, accessibility, cleanliness, instrumentation, and completion against approved design and commissioning requirements.

Coordinate construction, QA/QC, controls, vendors, safety, and operations activities for pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, loop checks, energization, and startup.

Support commissioning of gas and chemical systems, ultrapure water, process cooling water, compressed dry air, vacuum, exhaust and scrubber systems, wastewater, and related process utilities.

Witness and document equipment startup, alarm and interlock verification, controls integration, vendor testing, and functional performance testing.

Analyze test results and system performance, troubleshoot process, mechanical, instrumentation, and controls issues, and drive corrective actions to closure.

Manage commissioning deficiencies and punch items through closure while maintaining test records, system status, progress updates, and risk logs.

Protect live fab systems by following system ownership, management of change, lockout and tagout, permit, contamination control, and safe work requirements.

Coordinate final acceptance and turnover, ensuring test reports, redlines, operations manuals, training records, spare parts, and closeout documentation are complete.

Support startup stabilization, performance verification, warranty follow up, and lessons learned after systems are placed into service.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of commissioning, startup, process engineering, or facilities engineering experience on complex manufacturing projects, including direct semiconductor fab or cleanroom experience.

Hands on knowledge of high purity process utilities and the ability to read P&IDs, piping isometrics, control narratives, equipment data sheets, instrument lists, and cause and effect matrices.

Experience with the commissioning lifecycle from mechanical completion and system turnover through functional testing, startup, stabilization, and final acceptance.

Working knowledge of applicable industrial codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, NFPA 70, NFPA 55, semiconductor safety practices, and project specifications.

Experience with building management, SCADA, or PLC based controls, including loop checks, alarm verification, interlock testing, and trend review, is preferred.

Strong field coordination, technical documentation, problem solving, and communication skills in an active construction and operating facility environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam. Experience with PMWeb, Latista, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or commissioning management software is beneficial.

Ability to support planned system outages, startup windows, and off shift commissioning activities when required by the project schedule.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Equivalent directly relevant semiconductor commissioning experience may be considered.
