Job Summary



 To support our extraordinary team who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Commodity Manager Mechanical located in Dallas, TX.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Commodity Management Mechanical the Commodity Manager Mechanical who is in charge of managing day-to-day operations and core functions of operations to achieve and maintain operational excellence.

What a typical day looks like:

Partner with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to support business objectives and new product initiatives.

Develop and execute commodity strategies for mechanical components and assemblies.

Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, contracts, and long-term agreements.

Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities while maintaining quality and supply continuity.

Monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery and quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Analyze market trends, capacity, and supply risks to make data-driven sourcing decisions.

Evaluate and onboard new suppliers to support growth, innovation, and risk mitigation.

Build strong supplier relationships and lead business reviews to ensure strategic alignment.

Drive cross-functional projects focused on productivity, cost savings, and operational excellence.

Provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

5+ years of experience in Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain.

Experience managing mechanical commodities and supplier relationships.

Proven success in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost reduction initiatives.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel skills.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Experience:

Experience with metal fabrications, machining, castings, plastics, or other mechanical components.

Knowledge of cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO), and commodity market analysis.

Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing environments.

Experience managing global suppliers and international sourcing strategies.

Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS.

Experience driving supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
