Amazon is building the future of artificial intelligence — from the foundation models that power generative AI, to the custom chips that train and run them, to the quantum computing research that will define the next era of computation. We are seeking a communications professional to join the team that tells that story.

As Communications Specialist, you'll play a central role in making the communications program for AI, chips, and quantum work. You'll be the person who keeps the operation running — managing the projects, tools, and processes that enable a team of senior communicators to move fast and stay coordinated across some of Amazon's most high-profile and technically complex programs.

This is a unique opportunity to build skills across every dimension of modern communications — earned media, owned content, measurement, and cross-functional coordination — while working on subject matter that is defining the technology industry. You'll gain deep exposure to how Amazon tells its most strategic stories, build relationships across the global communications organization, and develop the operational and editorial judgment that prepares you for a senior communications role.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • - Program and project management. Own the operational rhythm of the team: track workstreams and deliverables, manage timelines and workback schedules for launches and campaigns, keep the editorial calendar current, and flag risks before they become problems. Be the person who always knows where things stand.
  • - Measurement and reporting. Build and maintain the reporting that helps the team understand what's working. Track media coverage, owned content performance, and program metrics. Surface insights and trends that sharpen strategy — not just dashboards, but the analysis that makes them useful.
  • - Resource coordination. Manage the flow of competitive intelligence, messaging guidance, and strategic resources to the communications team. Ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time, and build the mechanisms that make that sustainable rather than ad hoc.
  • - Communications support. Contribute to media materials, talking points, and briefing documents as needed. Support product launches, strategic announcements, and thought leadership programs. Over time, build toward owning discrete communications workstreams independently.
  • About the team
  • This role is part of the communications team supporting Amazon's investments in foundational AI models, custom silicon, and quantum computing, within Amazon's Communications and Corporate Responsibility (CCR) organization.

Basic qualifications

  • - 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
  • - Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications

  • - Experience managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing timelines
  • - Experience in technology communications, particularly in AI, cloud computing, semiconductors, or enterprise technology
  • - Strong writing skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for general audiences
  • - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain operational processes, tracking systems, or reporting frameworks
  • - Comfort working under tight deadlines with shifting priorities
