  • YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES THE WHAT
  • You own Blackwave’s visual identity end-to-end. From sales decks and investor materials to social media, employer branding, trade shows, and product communication, you transform complex aerospace technology into clear, compelling design that customers, candidates, and investors understand at first glance.
  • As the company's primary design expert, you create systems, templates, and assets that enable others to communicate consistently without relying on design support for every request.
  • THE WHY
  • Blackwave is building the next generation of Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) for the aerospace industry. As we scale, our brand must scale with us.
  • Great engineering alone is not enough. Customers need to understand it. Candidates need to be excited by it. Investors need to believe in it.
  • This role exists to make Blackwave instantly recognizable and easy to choose. You turn complex pressure-vessel technology into a visual language that supports growth across sales, hiring, product communication, and company visibility.

YOUR IMPACT

You don't just design assets. You build the visual system that shapes how Blackwave is perceived.

  • You ensure:
  • every customer-facing asset follows a clear and consistent visual identity
  • sales and investor teams can communicate professionally without depending on design support for every update
  • our brand guidelines remain practical, scalable, and actively used
  • technical aerospace content becomes easy to understand through strong visual communication
  • our digital presence consistently reflects the quality of our products and ambitions

Your tasks in detail and by priority:

  • Own and evolve our visual identity across all touchpoints. Maintain brand guidelines, develop new components when required, and ensure consistency across teams and channels.
  • → Accountability: Build a system others can rely on.
  • Redesign and maintain core sales and investor assets including pitch decks, product datasheets, proposal templates, and supporting collateral. Create templates that allow business teams to work efficiently without constant design support.
  • → High Performan ce: Design systems that make future work faster.
  • Create and maintain visual assets for LinkedIn, our website, recruiting campaigns, and other digital channels while ensuring a consistent visual presence.
  • → Candor: Clear communication starts with clear design.
  • Support trade shows, print production, product communication, signage, and visual production together with external vendors and service providers.
  • → Togetherness: Great design happens through collaboration across functions.
  • Transform technical information, diagrams, specifications, and engineering concepts into visuals that can be understood by non-experts without sacrificing accuracy.
  • → Playfulness: Make complex things simple and engaging.
  • YOUR PROFILE Must-Haves
  • 4+ years of professional experience in communication design, visual design, brand design, graphic design or a related field.
  • Experience working independently in an in-house role, making design decisions without the oversight of an art director or design lead.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong experience with Figma, including templates, components, design systems, and digital layouts.
  • Proven experience developing, maintaining, and scaling brand systems across multiple formats and channels.
  • Strong presentation, portfolio, and communication design skills, including B2B sales decks, investor presentations, and marketing collateral.
  • Ability to work independently as the primary design function, managing priorities, stakeholders, and creative decisions without direct design leadership.
  • Nice to have
  • Experience in deep-tech, aerospace, industrial B2B, defence, or other technically complex industries.
  • Experience with video assets, 3D product visualization, print production, agencies, trade-show production, or technical infographics.

Please be aware that this is a permanent, full-time position in Taufkirchen near Munich.

  • WHAT WE OFFER
  • Choose your own benefit: Germany ticket, Egym Wellpass, or a tax-free Give Card
  • Healthy & social lunch culture: Fresh meals during shared lunch breaks
  • High level of autonomy & real impact: You own a critical seam in the business — between what we sell and what we build
  • Startup mindset meets aerospace innovation: Flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and space for your ideas
  • Stunning views: Rooftop terrace with views of the Alps in Taufkirchen, or indoor garden in Garching-Hochbrück
  • Growth opportunities: Work on technically demanding projects with real stakes
  • We live our team culture: From tech talks to team events and after-work gatherings — we celebrate success together
