About Northside Neighbors
Launched through the InvestNorth Tulsa initiative, Northside Neighbors is a resident-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering opportunity, well-being, and prosperity in North Tulsa. Our work is centered on four interconnected areas: Mixed-Income Housing, Cradle-to-Career Education, Community Wellness, and Economic Vitality.
As a member of the Purpose Built Communities Network, Northside Neighbors uses a holistic, resident-centered approach to neighborhood revitalization. We work alongside residents, community organizations, institutions, businesses, and other partners to strengthen neighborhoods and create conditions for individuals and families to thrive.
Resident voice and engagement are foundational to our work, and Northside Neighbors serves as a community quarterback—helping connect people, resources, organizations, and strategies around shared neighborhood priorities.
Position Purpose
The Community Health Prevention and Promotion Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of a Health Empowerment Zone serving the Hawthorne and Walt Whitman neighborhoods and greater North Tulsa. A Health Empowerment Zone (HEZ) is a place-based, community-led approach to improving health by addressing the social, economic, and environmental conditions that shape people’s health before they see a doctor
Working closely with the Director of Community Wellbeing, the Manager will lead community-based health promotion and prevention strategies, strengthen partnerships, increase connections to primary care and mental health services, and coordinate key initiatives including the “Know Your Numbers” campaign, expanded doula training and services, and two annual Community Baby Showers. The position will ensure that resident voice and community priorities guide the work and that health strategies are integrated across Northside Neighbors' broader neighborhood revitalization efforts.
