Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer

Job Description:

General Summary:

Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer inspects, monitors and documents the work in progress on site for facility projects during construction, commissioning, final acceptance, and post-construction phases to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and the project schedule. This position is based on site in Lake Orion, Michigan . Occasional weekend work may be required to support business and project needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• •Serve as a liaison between the contractor, architect and engineers
• •Review, comment, and approve construction documents
• •Review, comment, and approve shop submittals
• •Review, comment, and approve Request For Information (RFI’s) forms
• •Provide field checks and/or investigations as per request of office team
• •Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
• •Attend construction meetings on behalf of AE Team.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

• •Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering field preferred or related work experience
• •Professional Registration preferred

Experience:

Candidates with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering are preferred.

• •5 years of experience with construction and the administration of construction contracts.
• •LEED training preferred
• •ADA training preferred
• •Safety training preferred

Skills/Competencies:

• •Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Schedule, AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
• •Excellent communication and written skills
