Construction Technician II

What will you do to contribute to the company's success?

• •Installs underground conduit, handholes, pedestals, cabinets and row markers via trenching, plowing, sawing, digging and horizontal drilling.
• •Places underground pipe, innerducts and vaults in support of cable installation.
• •Installs aerial cable, utility poles and associated hardware.
• •Performs a lead role in the operation of crew vehicles, vacuum excavation equipment, conduit trailers, fiber trailers, air compressors, backhoe / mini
• •excavator / plow / directional drill and other tools and equipment.
• •Performs line maintenance and repairs for subscriber-based electronics and cable infrastructure.
• •Ensures traffic control and flagging duties are performed when and as required. Ensures company assets are properly and continuously maintained in excellent operating condition and secured in a safe manner.
• •Performs traffic control flagging duties for roads and highways as needed.
• •Accurately completes progress forms, project activity reports and all other documentation pertaining to work assignments.
• •Loads and transports heavy equipment to and from assigned jobsites.
• •Surveys jobs sites while considering all safety measures – for associates, the general public and property.

Qualifications

• •3-4 years’ prior experience High school or equivalent
• •Valid Class A Commercial Drivers’ License
• •OSHA 10 construction certification.
• •Completion of required -n-house construction training programs. Ability to operate hand, power and specialty tools.
• •May be required to work day, evening or night schedules, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends and out of town assignments.
• •Individuals hired into DOT regulated positions must be able to meet and maintain the requirements under the Company’s DOT program, including successfully complete and pass a road test examination, driver’s record safety review, drug testing, DOT physical, and past employer safety performance history. In accordance with DOT policy, the Company retrieves driving records and randomly tests for illegal substances according to the Reasonable Suspicion Policy
