Position Overview
We are seeking a highly collaborative Contract Specialist to serve as a key member of Insulet Mexico's Legal team at the company's Guadalajara Office. This role reports to Mexico's Legal Director and will work closely with the U.S.-based paralegal team.
The ideal candidate should have experience supporting contract lifecycle management (CLM) activities in an in-house legal, procurement, shared services, or multinational environment. He or she must be comfortable operating in a global organization, able to work independently but collaboratively, and skilled at coordinating contract intake, workflow, approvals, execution, storage, renewals, and reporting. The role will provide operational and administrative support to the U.S.-based paralegal team, assist Procurement with contract-related follow-up that does not require legal advice or negotiation, and support other business needs and large-scale special projects, as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Lifecycle Management. Support end-to-end CLM activities, including contract intake, matter creation, workflow routing, status tracking, internal approvals, signature coordination, storage, renewal monitoring, and closeout.
Paralegal Team Support. Provide operational and administrative support to the U.S.-based paralegal team, including document preparation, template management, matter tracking, and follow-up with internal stakeholders, as well as managing the Legal team inbox, including replying to requests and managing requests with Legal team members;
Contract Administration. Maintain, organize, and track contract databases and repositories, ensuring proper execution, renewals, and compliance with internal policies and retention requirements.
Workflow and Escalation. Review submissions for completeness, identify missing information or deviations from established processes, and escalate legal questions, non-standard terms and material risks to the appropriate attorney or paralegal.
Process Improvement. Work with Legal, Procurement, and other stakeholders to improve CLM workflows, templates, playbooks, reporting, and operational processes, including the responsible use of AI and automation tools to increase efficiency and expand team capacity.
Reporting and Compliance. Prepare and maintain trackers, dashboards, and reports regarding contract volume, status, aging, renewals, and other relevant metrics.
Miscellaneous. Collaborate with legal and paralegal teams in other jurisdictions on cross-border assignments; support travel and meeting arrangements, scheduling, expense reports, and invoice processing; and support the Legal Director with cross-functional initiatives.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, International Business, Finance, or a related field from a recognized university; legal studies or paralegal training is strongly preferred.
A law degree and professional license (cédula profesional) are not required for this position.
2-4 years of experience in contract administration, CLM, paralegal support, legal operations, procurement operations, or a similar role with exposure to commercial contracts and transactional workflows.
Prior experience in an in-house legal department, law firm, shared services organization, procurement function, or multinational company strongly preferred.
Full professional proficiency in English is mandatory (written and spoken), with the ability to communicate effectively and work with contracts and legal terminology in English.
Experience supporting U.S.-based legal teams and familiarity with U.S. commercial contract terminology, CLM platforms, and contract repositories is a significant advantage.
Experience with contract intake, approval workflows, document execution, records management, renewal tracking, and reporting is strongly preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the highest standards of integrity, discretion, service orientation, and good judgment, including the ability to recognize when a matter requires Legal escalation.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and familiar with CLM, e-signature, document management, reporting, and AI tools.
Occasional travel may be required as part of exposure to global teams and cross-border experience.
