Evio Overview
Evio is a highly unique pharmacy solutions company that was founded by and works closely with health plans to implement transformative (to cost, quality, access and experience) initiatives primarily focused on specialty and other high-cost medication solutions.
In 2020, a group of five amazing Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans that in total serve more than 20 million members recognized that the way medications get to patients needs significant reform—rapidly rising costs and massive system complexities are detrimental to patients and the entire industry. In 2025, Wellmark joined as Evio's first non-founding investor and sixth owner health plan. Each company made, and continues to make, significant investments to establish Evio as an independent entity to lead this transformation.
Evio has advanced analytics and contracting capabilities at scale , and a suite of digital tools , to power our high-cost medication solutions. Our solutions act as a self-reinforcing “ flywheel ” where each element strengthens and feeds into the next, and support an “Only Evio can do that,” mindset and prioritization.
Evio is also a company that has invested heavily in and been highly intentional about people, team and culture. We believe we have created a very special place to work and encourage candidates to observe and ask us about our culture and decide for themselves.
Evio's Values
Empathy – The people our business serves always come first. We care for our teammates and put ourselves in the shoes of our health plan customers and the patients and clinicians our solutions benefit.
Diversity – We are committed to fostering a culture where everyone belongs and is valued for their background, experience and insights – one that encourages diversity of ideas, and is a nurturing, trusting, and accepting place for all.
Adventure – We are flexible, thrive in ambiguity, fail fast, and pivot quickly to get to a better answer. We celebrate wins and pivots with equal intensity.
Relentless – Guided by evidence and data, we are creative, curious, and unwavering in our pursuit of challenging the status quo and each other.
Transparency – Just as we seek to bring transparency to the pharmacy supply chain, authenticity and integrity are core to the way we communicate.
Excellence – We strive to raise the bar in all we do by hiring and developing exceptional talent and holding ourselves and our thinking to the highest standard.
Contract Development Manager
About the role
Evio and the six health plans we represent are uniquely positioned in the market and have demonstrated success in creating innovative partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers. As the regulatory environment for health plans, PBMs/GPOs, and manufacturers rapidly evolves over the next several years, Evio is expanding our direct manufacturer contracting capabilities and growing the team supporting this work.
The Contract Development Manager will contribute to the team by managing the pre-execution contract development process across pharmacy and medical benefit contracting. This role will translate negotiated business terms into clear, executable agreements, coordinate contracts through review and approval, support medication contracting RFPs, and help ensure contracts are handed off accurately for ongoing administration.
You’ll work closely with Negotiators, Legal, Strategy and Contract Operations throughout the contracting lifecycle. This is a hands-on role for someone who can manage detailed contract work, coordinate across teams, and help improve the tools and processes that support Evio’s medication contracting capabilities.
What you’ll do:
Manage the pre-execution contract lifecycle across pharmacy and medical benefit contracting, including innovative, value-based, and medical access/rebate agreements. Coordinate internal review, approval, and execution with Legal, Negotiators, and other stakeholders to resolve outstanding items and support timely completion.
Draft, review, and revise contracts, amendments, and related documents in partnership with Negotiators, Legal, Strategy, and other stakeholders, ensuring agreements accurately reflect negotiated business terms and Evio Contract Management standards.
Participate in manufacturer discussions during negotiation and contract development to clarify negotiated terms, identify contracting considerations, and support development of the applicable agreement.
Develop and maintain plan adoption documentation, ensuring alignment with applicable manufacturer offers and contracting requirements.
Maintain and update contract templates in partnership with Legal, including approved business and legal language and version control.
Support the development and execution of medication contracting RFPs across pharmacy and medical benefits, including preparing RFP materials, coordinating stakeholder input, managing RFP workflows, tracking manufacturer responses and offer revisions, and maintaining documentation through the RFP platform.
Prepare and coordinate post-execution handoffs with Contract Operations, ensuring key terms, obligations, reporting and invoicing requirements, effective dates, and other relevant requirements are accurately captured and communicated for ongoing contract administration.
Maintain accurate and complete contract and RFP documentation throughout the pre-execution lifecycle.
Support the implementation and adoption of the RFP platform and AI-enabled Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) solutions, leveraging these tools to improve the efficiency and consistency of contract development and RFP activities.
Identify and escalate complex, high-priority, or non-standard contracting matters to the Lead Contract Manager as appropriate.
Work closely with Contract Manager Lead to communicate contracting priorities, status, significant issues, risks, and escalations, and support timely resolution of matters requiring leadership involvement.
Partner with Contract Manager Lead to implement established Contract Management standards, quality controls, and process improvements across pre-execution contracting activities.
Support continuous improvement of Contract Management processes, templates, tools, and workflows.
Your skills and experience
5+ years of experience in contract management, contract development, healthcare contracting, pharmacy contracting, or a related role involving complex commercial agreements.
Experience drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts and amendments, with the ability to translate negotiated business terms into clear contractual language.
Experience supporting contracts throughout the contract lifecycle, including contract development, review, execution, implementation, amendments, renewals and ongoing contract management, with experience in pharmacy, medical benefit, pharmaceutical manufacturer, PBM, health plan, or other healthcare contracting is strongly preferred.
Experience supporting or managing RFP processes, including preparing RFP materials, coordinating stakeholder input, tracking manufacturer responses and offer revisions, and managing follow-up.
Comfort participating in external partners and pharmaceutical manufacturer negotiation discussions alongside Negotiators and collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Strategy and other stakeholders to understand business terms and contracting considerations.
Experience using contract management systems, RFP platforms, or other tools to manage contacting workflows, documentation, and contract lifecycle activities.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple contracts, priorities, deadlines, and cross-functional dependencies.
