Description

Title: Contract Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) – Clinical Supervisor (1099 - Hybrid)

Location: Boston, MA

Description:

Victory Programs has been a pioneer in the Boston community for over 50 years, providing housing and services to individuals and families navigating homelessness, substance use disorders, and chronic health conditions, including HIV/AIDS. All of our residential recovery, housing, and member programs operate on the core values of dignity, respect, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction. We are seeking an independently licensed clinical social worker on an hourly contract basis to provide clinical supervision to our clinical staff pursuing independent licensure.

Position Overview:

As a Contract Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical guidance through hourly individual and group supervision to MSW and LCSW-level staff working toward independent LICSW licensure. Supervision will focus on clinical skill development, assessment, diagnosis, and ethical autonomy. Responsibilities include reviewing clinical cases and signing off on licensing logs in compliance with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Social Workers and MassHealth regulations.

This role is structured as an hourly independent 1099 contract for an experienced clinician looking to support our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly 1-hour individual clinical supervision sessions emphasizing trauma-informed practices and harm reduction principles.
  • Facilitate small group supervision sessions (monthly or bimonthly) in alignment with Board limits on group hours.
  • Guide supervisees on core clinical competencies: DSM diagnostic criteria, treatment planning, progress notes, Motivational Interviewing, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Review complex cases, crisis response procedures, clinical boundaries, and safety planning.
  • Address dynamics of substance use disorders, Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT) options, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Support supervisees in navigating secondary traumatic stress and preventing burnout.
  • Maintain formal supervision logs and sign required verification documentation for the MA Board of Registration of Social Workers.

Qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) license in Massachusetts.
  • Authorization and qualifications under MA board regulations to supervise and sign off on licensure hours for LCSW/MSW staff.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical supervision experience; minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in substance use disorders, mental health, or residential recovery settings.
  • Strong alignment with harm reduction frameworks
  • Familiarity with Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) residential regulations and MassHealth documentation standards is highly preferred.

Fee Structure & Billing:

  • Individual Supervision: $100 per billable hour (in-person or remote).
  • Group Supervision: $150 per billable hour.
  • Ratio & Cap: Standard allocation is 1 hour of supervision per 35 clinical work hours, up to a maximum cap of 5 billable hours per month per assigned supervisee.
  • Administrative Scope: The flat hourly rates are all-inclusive for direct session time, brief pre-session case note review, hour tracking, and board sign-offs. Separate administrative or prep billing is not permitted.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy:

  • 24-Hour Notice: Supervisees or program management must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
  • Late Cancellation Fee: Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, or instances where a supervisee fails to attend ("no-show"), are billable to the organization at the standard 1-hour rate ($100)

To Apply

Please submit your resume/CV, a brief cover letter outlining your experience in residential recovery settings, and your Massachusetts LMHC license number.
