Position Overview

We are seeking a contract writer to develop and write a Christ-centered book designed for women navigating the unique season of pregnancy. We are open to different conceptual directions for this resource, including, but not limited to:

A general book for navigating the beautifully joyful, deeply transitional, and physically exhausting season of pregnancy through the lens of the gospel.

A targeted book that addresses specific emotional or spiritual challenges that often arise during pregnancy, such as anxiety and fear, body image in pregnancy, navigating pregnancy after a previous loss, or preparing for labor and delivery.

The ideal project will combine in-depth theology with deep empathy, meeting expectant mothers right where they are with the comforting truths of God’s Word.

Scope of Work

Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words)

Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of revision

Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitment

Commitment

Contract, per-project basis.

Compensation

Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity.

Additional Information

Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on the project timeline.

Why Publish with The Daily Grace Co.?

With over a decade of publishing experience, The Daily Grace Co. creates Christ-centered resources marked by theological depth, biblical faithfulness, and practical encouragement. We value thoughtful, faithful writers and partner closely from concept development through launch. Our goal is not simply to publish books—but to serve readers with resources that meet real needs and help them treasure Christ.

Important: Proposals that do not include all required components listed below cannot be reviewed.

AI Use: We strongly discourage the use of generative AI in book proposals, and we will not move forward with a book proposal if we detect that generative AI was used to generate or refine sample chapters.

Please submit all materials in a single PDF (not a Word Doc or Google Doc) that includes:

How your book overlaps with each one

How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis

Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience

Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate)

Previous publishing or writing experience

  • 7. Detailed Chapter Outline
  • Provide a working table of contents that includes:

The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book

  • 8. Front and Back Matter (Optional)
  • Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.).
  • 9. Timeline and Specifications

Estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words)

Anticipated manuscript delivery date

10. Other Book Ideas (Optional)

  • If you have additional book concepts that may be a fit for The Daily Grace Co., please include a brief description of each idea (1–3 sentences per concept). While these ideas will not be considered part of the current proposal, they may be considered for future publishing opportunities.
  • 11. Sample Material

The complete book introduction

Two fully written sample chapters representative of the final manuscript
