Position Overview
Shaw Commercial is a global design leader in commercial flooring for some of the world’s most creative and innovative environments. Our vast, sustainable product offerings can be found in diverse markets such as workplace, healthcare, hospitality, education and multi-family dwellings; supporting the spaces in which we work, learn, live, play and heal. Shaw Commercial is a part of Shaw Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. with more than $5 billion in annual sales and approximately 18,000 associates worldwide.
The Contracts Manager – Government & Healthcare serves as a strategic business advisor, helping Shaw protect the business, strengthen customer partnerships, and create greater value from complex government, education, healthcare, and cooperative purchasing agreements. Working directly with customers and in close partnership with Sales, Strategic Accounts, Legal, Finance, and Pricing, this individual supports contract strategy and negotiations, assesses financial and operational risk, and translates complex requirements into clear, actionable business plans. The role owns the ongoing implementation and management of agreements, including compliance, pricing, rebates, reporting, renewals, amendments, and obligation tracking, while coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure commitments are fulfilled throughout the contract lifecycle. More than traditional contract administration, this position will help Shaw reduce risk, improve its contract processes, strengthen customer relationships, and use key agreements more strategically to support profitable growth. This role works in a hybrid way, with at least three days per week based from our Cartersville corporate offices.

- Identify and assess business risks, including financial exposure, operational impacts, and pricing implications, and non-standard contractual requirements.
- Flag contract provisions likely to require Legal review and prepare concise summaries of key issues, risks, and recommended business positions.
- Proactively resolve business-related issues with Sales, Strategic Accounts, customers, and internal stakeholders before Legal escalation.
- Evaluate contract structures and commercial terms to ensure alignment with Shaw's business objectives, operational capabilities, and risk tolerance.
Negotiation & Business Support:
- Support commercial discussions and negotiations related to contract terms, pricing structures, rebate programs, and customer requirements.
- Recommend alternative contract language for business concerns, commercial positions, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Partner with Legal by providing business context, contract history, customer background, and recommended negotiation positions.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Sales and Strategic Accounts teams throughout the contract development and negotiation process.
Contract Compliance, Pricing & Administration:
- Monitor executed agreements to ensure ongoing compliance with customer contractual obligations and Shaw business requirements.
- Maintain contract records, amendments, renewals, pricing schedules, rebate structures, and supporting documentation within Salesforce and approved contract management systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate contract-related pricing requests, approvals, updates, and renewals in partnership with Sales Leadership, Finance, Commercial Leadership, and Contract Administration.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute contract compliance reports, pricing updates, customer-specific contract summaries, rebate reports, funding fee reports, and other operational reporting as required while tracking key contractual milestones, including customer commitments, notice periods, and renewal timelines.
- Support implementation of customer contract terms by coordinating with internal departments to ensure contractual obligations are understood and executed properly.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and implement processes that improve contract quality, compliance, accuracy, and cycle time.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation, repositories, and reporting processes.
- Train and mentor internal stakeholders on contract requirements, risk identification, compliance obligations, reporting procedures, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to contract management systems, reporting tools, pricing workflows, and business processes.

- Build strong relationships with Sales, Strategic Accounts, Legal, and external stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned market segments
