Position Summary

DMG is seeking a Controller with the capability and ambition to grow into a senior financial leadership position, with a potential path to Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will lead all day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal control functions for DMG Blockchain Solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and a dotted line to the Audit Committee Chair, this role oversees financial operations across traditional and digital asset markets, ensuring rigorous public company financial compliance, precise digital asset accounting, and timely audit execution. The ideal candidate possesses deep accounting technical strength, public company experience, and expertise in managing cryptocurrency accounting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes and prepare consolidated financial statements.

Ensure full compliance with IFRS / future US GAAP accounting standards and public company reporting guidelines.

Lead core operational accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Prepare financial reporting packages (FS), management discussion & analysis (MD&A) inputs, and executive financial summaries.

Manage corporate tax strategy execution, tax filings, compliance, and cross-border transfer pricing documentation.

2. Digital Asset Accounting & Reconciliation

Oversee financial operations and sub-ledger accounting for all digital assets, mining revenues, and cryptocurrency treasury holdings.

Implement and manage daily, weekly, and monthly wallet-to-ledger reconciliations across cold/hot storage, mining pools, and exchanges.

Ensure proper accounting treatment for digital asset impairment, cost of goods sold (COGS), staking, and transaction fees.

Monitor balance sheet exposure to cryptocurrency volatility and work with treasury to manage market risks.

Maintain strict segregation and auditing protocols between corporate digital assets and fiat funds.

3. Regulatory Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls

Serve as the primary operational point of contact for external auditors and manage annual and quarterly financial audit processes.

Design, implement, and monitor effective Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) and risk management frameworks.

Maintain compliance with regulatory filings, statutory financial requirements, and public company obligations.

Ensure complete audit trails and documentation for all traditional and blockchain financial transactions.

4. Operational Finance & Treasury Management

Manage cash flows, operational working capital, and treasury operations across both fiat currencies and digital assets.

Maintain commercial banking relationships and fiat operational workflows.

Support the CFO in annual budgeting, rolling operational forecasts, and variance analysis.

Monitor, optimize, and control operational expenditures, data center power commitments, and vendor contracts.

5. Systems, Automation & Team Leadership

Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems, modern ERPs, and digital asset accounting platforms.

Drive process automation across accounting workflows, transaction processing, and reconciliation tools.

Mentor, manage, and build a high-performing accounting team.

Required Qualifications

Certification: Designated CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or equivalent financial qualification.

Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with direct exposure to cryptocurrency or digital asset accounting.

Public Company Experience: Demonstrated expertise in public company financial reporting (IFRS), internal controls, and audit execution.

Technical Skills: Hands-on understanding of digital asset accounting standards, blockchain transaction mechanics, and wallet reconciliations. Experience with rolling in multiple company financials into one consolidated financial statement.

Treasury & Operations: Solid background in corporate finance, cash flow management, and treasury controls.

Leadership: Strong team management, analytical problem-solving, and professional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Controller/Senior Manager experience at a publicly listed technology, mining, or crypto enterprise.

Background in industrial data center operations, digital asset mining, or blockchain software financial models.

Experience with specialized crypto accounting sub-ledgers.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
