Position Summary

As a Cook , you will prepare and serve meals while ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. You will also step into a leadership role in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

• •Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines
• •Ensure compliance with dietary restrictions and special diets , including modified textures
• •Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary kitchen environment
• •Follow food safety, sanitation, and portion control standards
• •Monitor and record food temperatures
• •Assist with meal service and ensure appealing presentation
• •Maintain sanitizer solutions and follow cleaning schedules
• •Clean kitchen equipment, workspaces, and serving carts
• •Collaborate with dietary staff and other departments
• •Report resident concerns to leadership as needed
• •Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor

Qualifications

• •Must be at least 18 years old
• •High school diploma or GED preferred
• •At least 1 year of cooking experience , preferably in healthcare or long-term care
• •Understanding of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets
• •Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification
• •Knowledge of PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
• •Friendly, professional demeanor
• •Strong teamwork and communication skills
• •Compassion for an underserved population
