  • Job Duties:
  • This position will assist the Food Service Supervisor, provide support of the
  • facility’s Child Nutrition Program, and will ensure compliance with the
  • Department’s Federal Child Nutrition Program regulations.
  • Providing nutritionally adequate meals meeting the federal Child Nutrition
  • Program meal patterns.
  • Maintaining required records, reports, and inventories in compliance with
  • federal and state regulations.
  • Requisitioning food and supplies as needed.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal cleanliness as well as food sanitation.
  • Interpreting and following standard recipes and prescribed menus as well as
  • specific oral and written instructions.
  • Checking the cost and quality of items received and insure proper storage.
  • Complying with policies and procedures of the Department.
  • Assuming any responsibilities as designated by the Youth Development Center
  • Food Service Supervisor II, facility business officer, facility director, the Child
  • Nutrition Program Administrator and Child Nutrition Program Administrative
  • Officer.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $31,200-$48,810

DPS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.

Work Schedule:

Work hours for this position vary to meet the needs of juveniles and their families. Must be able to work on-call hours, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Military Experience
