Job Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving appetizing, well-balanced meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. This position is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, working as part of a team, and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• •Prepare meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• •Prepare food and assist with serving meals to residents.
• •Maintain a clean and sanitary food preparation area.
• •Clean and properly care for kitchen equipment and work areas.
• •Assist with preparing and serving refreshments, special meals, and events.
• •Complete assigned cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• •Notify the Dining Supervisor of equipment or maintenance concerns.
• •Assist the Dining Supervisor and other dietary team members as needed.
• •Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• •Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• •Previous cooking or food service experience is preferred.
• •Ability and willingness to learn recipes, food preparation procedures, and kitchen safety practices.
• •Dependable, adaptable, and able to work well as part of a team.
• •Ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain active throughout the shift.
• •Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• •Must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
