Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Corporate Counsel and become a trusted legal advisor to our Marketing and Communications teams as we shape the future of cloud computing. You'll navigate complex legal challenges, negotiate high-impact commercial agreements, and drive meaningful process improvements while working alongside a collaborative legal team that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Key job responsibilities
- - Provide strategic legal counsel to AWS Marketing and Communications teams on a range of complex legal matters, including regulatory compliance, contractual obligations, and risk mitigation
- - Negotiate and draft commercial agreements that protect AWS's interests while fostering strong business relationships
- - Analyze novel legal issues and develop thoughtful solutions in ambiguous situations
- - Collaborate with colleagues across the legal department and other business teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive legal support
- - Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the legal function
- A day in the life
- As Corporate Counsel supporting AWS Marketing and Communications, you'll engage with multifaceted legal matters that span compliance, commercial negotiations, and strategic counsel. Your day might include reviewing marketing campaigns for regulatory compliance, negotiating vendor agreements with external partners, collaborating with cross-functional teams to address emerging legal questions, and identifying opportunities to streamline our legal processes. You'll work within our larger legal department while also building strong relationships with the marketing and communications leaders you support, helping them navigate complex decisions with confidence and clarity.

Basic qualifications
- - 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- - Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred qualifications
- - Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- - Experience working with or having knowledge of cloud computing and existing cloud technologies
- - Experience with in-house work at a technology or internet company
- - Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
- - Experience advising on privacy laws
- - Experience in using AI for legal research, contract analysis, document review, and simplification efforts

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
