Inside the Role
DTNA seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel to join its Commercial, Distribution and Antitrust Team, which provides strategic legal support across procurement, commercial transactions, sales, aftermarket operations, mergers and acquisitions, distribution, and antitrust matters. This is an exciting opportunity to partner closely with business leaders on critical sourcing and strategic initiatives that drive DTNA’s operations and future growth.
- A primary focus of this role will be supporting DTNA's procurement organizations, advising on the sourcing of production parts and components, software and technology solutions, equipment, materials, and services that support DTNA's operations and future growth.
- Working closely with business stakeholders across North America and Germany, you will serve as a trusted advisor, helping the business navigate complex legal challenges while balancing legal risk with practical, commercially focused solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong legal judgment, business acumen, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for continuous improvement.

We Take Care of Our Team
Position offers a starting salary range of $144,000 - $184,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience
Benefits include annual variable pay bonus program; eligible for the use of a company vehicle; 401k company contribution with company match up to 8% as well as non-elective company contribution of 3 - 7% depending on age.; starting at 4 weeks paid vacation; 13+ calendar holidays; 8 weeks paid parental leave; employee assistance program; comprehensive health care plans and wellness programs; onsite fitness (at some locations); tuition assistance and volunteer paid time off; short-term and long-term disability plans.
What You Drive at DTNA
- Advise procurement and business stakeholders on commercial contracting, risk management, and strategic transactions.
- Draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements involving suppliers, technology providers, service providers, and strategic partners.
- Structure transactions to protect DTNA's legal and business interests while enabling efficient business execution.
Drive the adoption and optimization of legal technology, AI-powered solutions, contract lifecycle management systems, and knowledge management resources to improve the speed, consistency, and scalability of legal services.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, negotiation guidance, and training materials.
- Partner with Corporate Compliance on regulatory and compliance matters.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend appropriate business and policy changes.
- Manage outside counsel and related legal resources.
- Apply sound legal judgment, practical problem solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the role.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with a state bar and ability to practice in Oregon or South Carolina as in-house counsel.
- Eight (8) or more years of relevant legal experience supporting procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, industrial, automotive, transportation, technology, or software-driven businesses
- Significant experience negotiating, drafting, and advising on complex commercial agreements.
- Experience developing or implementing contract management, legal operations, process improvement, or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong business judgment, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a positive sense of humor.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Experience advising on federal procurement matters, including military or government contracts.
- Experience preparing drafting corporate governance documentation.
- Experience supporting strategic commercial transactions, acquisitions, joint ventures, or other corporate development initiatives.
