  • Who we are
  • We are a global leader in financial services software, committed to broadening access to financial services and shaping the future of banking. Our solutions support over 7,000 customers, including 80% of the world’s top 50 banks, across more than 110 countries, powering mission‑critical capabilities in Universal Banking, Payments, and Lending.

Role Overview

The Corporate Strategy Principal is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong analytical thinking, structured problem solving and commercial judgement.

You will own strategic workstreams from problem definition and analysis through to recommendation and execution, translating complex information into clear insights for senior leadership.

As part of a lean team, you will need a low-ego, roll-your-sleeves-up mindset. The role combines high-level strategic work with detailed, practical execution, and you will be expected to step in wherever needed to deliver the right outcome.

The role also provides exposure to corporate development, including strategic assessments and early-stage due diligence, alongside selected ESG initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of Finastra’s corporate strategy alongside the CEO and Strategy leadership.
  • Structure complex business questions into clear hypotheses, workstreams and analytical approaches.
  • Analyse markets, competitors, customers and strategic opportunities.
  • Build financial models, business cases and scenario analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations and executive-level presentations.
  • Own strategic workstreams from initial analysis through to implementation.
  • Partner across the business to drive cross-functional strategic initiatives.
  • Take a hands-on approach to delivery, including detailed and operational tasks when required.
  • Support corporate development activities, including strategic assessments and early-stage due diligence.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board-level discussions.
  • Build a strong understanding of Finastra’s products, customers and the wider fintech landscape.
  • Contribute to selected ESG initiatives within the broader strategy agenda.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience within strategy or management consulting, or a similarly rigorous corporate strategy environment.
  • Strong strategy toolkit, including hypothesis-driven problem solving, quantitative and qualitative analysis, synthesis and executive communication.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems and identify the insights that matter.
  • Strong financial modelling and business case development skills.
  • Ability to independently own complex workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs at pace.
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to move effectively between strategy and execution.
  • Low-ego, collaborative and willing to get into the detail, with no task considered too small when it helps deliver the right outcome.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
  • Exposure to software, fintech, financial services or private equity-backed environments is desirable.
  • Self-directed, intellectually curious and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to corporate development, M&A or ESG is advantageous but not essential.
