Cost Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Engineer to support cost control and project delivery across a range of projects within nuclear decommissioning market. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Sellafield projects, a strong understanding of NEC contracts, and advanced analytical and reporting skills.

Your role

• •Support cost control activities across projects of varying complexity.
• •Develop and maintain cost forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics.
• •Apply NEC contract principles in cost management and change control.
• •Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure accurate cost reporting.
• •Conduct data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
• •Create dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, and Visual Basic for Applications.
• •Assist in the preparation of final accounts and cost close-out processes.

About you

• •Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost engineering or project controls.
• •Experience managing cost functions on projects with various complexities.
• •Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
• •Experience working on Sellafield or similar regulated projects.
• •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
• •Proficient in Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
• •Strong analytical and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

• •Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related field.
• •Professional membership or certification (e.g., ACostE, RICS, APM, MAPM).
• •Familiarity with ERP systems and project management tools.
