About the Role
Miro is looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead our Japan business. Japan is one of Miro's fastest-growing markets, and that growth is about to accelerate: we've made a significant recent investment in a Japan Data Center, removing a long-standing barrier for enterprise customers and opening the door to a new tier of commercial ambition.
This is a business catalyst role. We need a senior executive who can drive an ambitious commercial agenda while building a team and culture strong enough to carry it, for our people and for the customers we serve. This person earns trust quickly, leads with transparency, and represents Japan credibly inside a global organization while being the external face of Miro Japan.
You'll lead a team that understands customers' most strategic challenges, knows exactly who the key stakeholders are, and helps those customers transform their business with Miro, all while building a Tokyo hub that people are proud to belong to.
What you’ll do
- Commercial Leadership
- ● Set the strategy for Japan's High Touch Sales organization and own its execution
- with clear accountability.
- ● Own an ambitious, sustainable growth target for the region.
- ● Win new logos, particularly lighthouse accounts, and drive wall-to-wall expansion
- across the existing customer base.
- ● Build effective co-sell motions with partners: new logo acquisition into TSE-listed
- parent companies, and expansion into their subsidiaries.
- ● Act as a trusted Miro expert for enterprise customers, credible with practitioners
- and executives alike.
- People & Culture Leadership
- ● Build a Tokyo hub culture grounded in transparency, strong team dynamics,
- accountability, and psychological safety.
- ● Lead and develop a multi-layered team, visibly investing in coaching and growth.
- ● Act as a genuine bridge between Japan and JAPAC/global leadership, translating
- strategy and context in both directions.
- ● Be an active, engaged member of the regional senior leadership team as well as
- the cross functional global leadership team.
- ● Hold the standard we hold every leader to: how you lead people matters as much
- as the results you deliver.
What you’ll need
- Experience & Track Record
- ● 15+ years of experience across direct and partner-led sales.
- ● A proven track record in direct SaaS sales within enterprise segments.
- ● A demonstrable partner sales track record, including co-sell motions for new logo
- acquisition and subsidiary expansion into TSE-listed groups.
- ● Experience leading through a layer of management, leading people managers
- rather than only individual contributors, across a growing team of 20+.
- ● Country Manager or GM experience in a global company is a strong plus, as is a
- background in SaaS, PLG, or collaboration software.
- Leadership & Culture
- ● A track record of building trust with your team, stakeholders, peers, and
- customers.
- ● Demonstrated ability to build or turn around team culture, backed by concrete
- examples of impact.
- ● Strong experience operating in a global, matrixed organization and working well
- amid ambiguity.
- ● A consistent, accountable, and transparent leadership style.
- ● A genuine investment in developing talent, evidenced by people on your team
- who grew and excelled under your leadership.
What's in it for you
We want you to feel supported, connected, and ready to grow. Our global benefits package generally includes equity, a wellbeing benefit, a WFH equipment allowance, and an annual Learning & Development stipend. Join a diverse team where you can do your best work. Full benefits may differ per location.
