Guthrie County Hospital is looking for a Part Time Courier with a flexible schedule of mornings or afternoons averaging 15 - 20 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY: The Courier is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transport of medical specimens, interoffice mail, and clinical supplies between the main facility and outlying clinics. Operating on a designated route, this role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth communication and logistics across the organization. The Courier must adhere to all regulatory and safety guidelines while always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Transport laboratory specimens, medical supplies, equipment, and interoffice mail between clinic locations according to a predetermined schedule and route.

· Handle specimens following strict safety, biohazard, and HIPAA compliance protocols.

· Ensure proper documentation and tracking of items transported, including obtaining necessary signatures and maintaining delivery logs.

· Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the courier vehicle; report any maintenance issues promptly.

· Communicate any route delays, changes, or incidents to the Chief Clinic Administrator or appropriate supervisor.

· Assist with the loading and unloading of materials at each location.

· Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and courteous behavior when interacting with staff at various clinics.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Rate of pay is $16.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience.
