Course: GERM 202 D2 – German Language, Beginners (3 credits) section 002
Note: This is the second half of a 6-credit course that will be taught in the Winter 2027 academic term representing 3 credits of the full 6-credit course . This contract begins on January 5, 2027, and ends on May 7, 2027.
Course details: A comprehensive first level course designed to develop communicative skills.
Contract dates: January 5, 2027– May 7, 2027
Course start and end dates: January 5, 2027– April 14, 2027
Course schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:35am – 11:25am
Location : TBA
Salary (rate for 3-credit course teaching) : $11,824.00

Position Summary:
A Course Lecturer assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:
- a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
- b) delivery of the Course;
- c) evaluation of students;
- d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
- e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
- f) upon request, review of their students’ grades;
- g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;
Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education:
M.A. or Ph.D. in German or registered in the German Studies graduate program at McGill. Native or near-native fluency in German required.
Experience:
A minimum of two semesters as instructor of a course at a similar level or to be a graduate student in German Studies in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at McGill University. Course lecturers must demonstrate a familiarity with the course materials used in German Studies language courses.

Course details: Topics in current social, political, and cultural issues in Latin America and Spain, including advanced skills in Spanish reading, listening, speaking, and writing.

Doctoral level study in Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, or a closely related field, including completed coursework for the PhD, or completed PhD degree in Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, or a closely related field.
Experience :
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary social, political, and cultural issues in Latin America and/or Spain;
Previous experience teaching a 200-level university-lev
