Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• •Oversee Service department operations for the assigned Cresco location to ensure service work is performed in accordance with established procedures, scheduled and preventative maintenance is performed on schedule, quality repairs are made, and correct parts are ordered and received in a timely manner.
• •Identify repairs that are eligible for warranty consideration and pass on pertinent information to Product Support Center Specialist for claim processing.
• •Monitor non-Caterpillar (Allied) service school training needs of Mechanics at the branch store; make recommendations to Cresco Regional Service Manager for scheduling.
• •Determine equipment repairs that may require outside vendor assistance; make recommendations to Cresco Regional Service Manager for review and final decision.
• •Prioritize downed equipment repairs at the branch; work with Store Manager and Lead Mechanic to execute the plan.
• •Ensure work orders are always used and processed correctly.
• •Collaborate with Product Support Center Specialist on manufacturer recall notices and follow up action.
• •Train new employees on maintenance systems and complete new Mechanic hire checklists.
• •Advise Product Support team on equipment purchases.
• •Monitor effective preventative maintenance programs, monitor and control maintenance costs, and measure the quality of service work performed throughout the region to ensure established standards are maintained.
• •Assist managers in evaluating the mechanical skills and abilities of candidates.
• •Build and maintain relationships with approved vendors.
• •Distribute manufacturer updates and service bulletins to the branch and track outcomes.
• •Communicate, train, and implement Cresco Best Practices.
• •Follow all safety policies, procedures, rules, and laws.
• •Follow all Cresco Operational Procedures, quality control (QC) Standards, and cash accounts procedures.
• •Maintain regular, punctual, and predictable attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• •May assist in educating customers on equipment use and demonstrating equipment for customers
• •Operate company or personal vehicle occasionally to assist others in the performance of their essential job functions.
• •Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• •Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
• •Respectfully take direction from supervisor/manager.

JOB SCOPE

This position serves in the capacity of the Cresco Branch Service Manager. General discretion and judgment is exercised routinely in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgment or professional execution of responsibilities are made, the consequences to the department can be serious.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS

Internal contacts consist of levels of positions in the company from business unit leaders to entry level positions. This position regularly deals with employees and customers in exchange of information in person, writing, via telephone or by electronic transfer. Sensitivity is required in dealing with such information and decisions concerning the release or sharing of that information. External contacts consist of customers, visitors and vendors.

The pay range for this position is: $94,063 - $114,711 (Starting wage will depend on experience and education. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary).
