Description

NAYA Family Center is seeking a collaborative, community-minded Cully TIF Outreach Coordinator to support community-driven economic development in the Cully neighborhood. As part of the Neighborhood Prosperity Network, you’ll build relationships with small businesses, property owners, residents, and community partners to increase awareness of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) resources and connect businesses with micro grant opportunities. You’ll help administer the micro grant program, guide applicants through the funding process, identify barriers to access, and support inclusive economic development initiatives that reflect the needs and priorities of the Cully community.

NAYA offers an exceptional benefits package, including free medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees (with affordable options for family members), a 401(k) retirement plan with a 6% match, paid vacation, and 16 paid holidays.

This is a full-time role with work hours of 9am to 6pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Some evening and weekend work may be required based on program needs. Once training and onboarding are complete, there may be flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week with supervisor approval.

The pay for this position is $31.25/hour.

  • Ideally, you have lived or professional experience working with historically marginalized/historically resilient communities, particularly Native American communities.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Business, Urban Planning, Community Development, or a related field.
  • If you speak another language, especially Spanish, it's a plus.
  • Ideally, you have a strong connection to the Cully community.
  • You bring experience supporting small businesses, startups, community development, or economic development initiatives.
  • You're a natural relationship-builder and can collaborate and communicate effectively with community partners and service providers.
  • You are comfortable engaging with community members in group settings and public presentations.
  • You thrive in a team-oriented workplace, are adaptable, and are willing to roll up your sleeves and pitch in, even when it’s not your job.
  • You are adaptable, flexible, and able to manage changing priorities without compromising the quality of your work. You are consistently punctual, reliable, and dependable in support of your team and clients.
  • You possess a current Oregon or Washington driver’s license, and the ability to be insured under NAYA’s liability insurance policy (i.e. no more than one major driving violation in the last three years).

What You'll Do

  • Build relationships with Cully residents, small businesses, property owners, community organizations, and economic development partners to understand local priorities and increase awareness of TIF resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between Prosper Portland and the community, sharing program information, connecting businesses with resources, and identifying barriers to accessing funding and support.
  • Administer the TIF micro grant program, helping businesses, property owners, and residents understand eligibility requirements and navigate the application process.
  • Track program outreach, participation, grant outcomes, business retention, job creation when applicable, and other performance measures; maintain accurate information in CaseWorthy and other required databases.
  • Connect local businesses with professional networks, potential mentors, networking opportunities, and other resources that support business growth and long-term economic vitality.
  • Support district improvement planning and collaborative economic development initiatives with NAYA’s Community Development team, Prosper Portland, and other public and private sector partners.
  • Research and monitor commercial real estate trends, including available properties for sale or lease, and support business promotion through social media, business profiles, and other outreach efforts.
  • Represent NAYA professionally at community events and public engagements, participate in trainings and cross-departmental projects, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a safe and welcoming environment.
