Custodian

Description

The Custodian is responsible for ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors. This is a part-time position at St. Mary School.

Requirements:

• •Able to work afternoon and evening hours.
• •Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• •Cleans, sweeps, mops, buffs and polishes floors of hallways and classrooms
• •Helps maintain safety issues and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• •Performs functions that require the use of machines, equipment, and tools for the purpose of maintaining a clean and sanitized building environment.
• •Performs minor, job-related, maintenance on custodial equipment, classroom furniture and fixtures (e.g. change vacuum cleaner belts, bags, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper functioning and usability of items.
• •Performs routine summer and break maintenance (e.g. strip/wax floors, moves furniture, painting, etc.) for the purpose of completing and/or facilitating summer and break cleaning and maintenance.
• •Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies for the purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use.
• •Secures facilities and grounds (e.g. doors, lights, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.
• •Lift at least 50 pounds, climb and work off a 6' ladder, able to walk/stand throughout the day.

Qualifications:

Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset
